Elevate your fermentation game with our pH Test Strips. These strips are great companions for ensuring pH levels throughout your ferments. Simple to use, just wet the strip with your sample, the color will change, and match it against the provided color chart for an instant and accurate pH reading. Our pH test strips have a pH range from 0 to 6, making them versatile for all fermentation processes and foods within this spectrum. Whether you’re perfecting your homemade kombucha, fine-tuning the flavors of your water kefir, monitoring the acidity of your vinegar, optimizing the sweetness of your mead, wine, or beer, or ensuring the tanginess of sauerkraut and various fermented foods and vegetables, these strips have you covered.

Kombucha pH Testing

When starting the fermentation process, your kombucha should start out at 4.5 pH or lower and can be anywhere between 2.5 and 3.5 pH once completed depending on flavor preference. Testing the pH at the beginning of your brew is always a good idea to keep for safety in keeping unwanted bacteria out of your brew. Aim to start at 4.5 or below.
